CAKE!
I'm a lover of certain types of cake. I don't like store bought cakes. For me, baking a cake from scratch is an absolute sign of love. Even though most cakes are simple enough, putting together the ingredients to make a perfect combination of flavors. Once you start, it's really difficult to switch back to boxed cake mixes.
Baking cakes is intoxicating and this card is here to help! As a matter of fact, I made it expressly for the photos in this listing - I wanted to make it and capture it with the card for the Etsy shop.
Inspired by my youngest brother's need for a birthday card, and my love for baking Nigella Lawson's chocolate fudge cake recipe from "Nigella Bites." It has been a staple in my baking arsenal since I picked up this book in 2003.
While the intention of this card is "birthday" it is pretty general and can be used for any occasion - best wishes, you're moving, lets celebrate, a baby!, congratulations, I love you, I'm sorry you just broke up, sorry you lost your job, etc. This card is to capture the sense of comfort and celebration because cake is both, right? RIGHT.
Card is larger than normal - 5"x7" and comes with your choice of envelope color only - white, teal, or fuschia. Art on the card is all mine. Recipe is courtesy of Nigella Lawson.
The hope is that you'll keep the recipe card side even if you want to recycle the message part. And keep this recipe as part of your baking collection and as a keepsake.
Feel free to send me any questions!
