Many people ask about my process when it comes to deciding the paper that lines these cards. It's always difficult for me to respond because it's the envelope liner that really dictates the card in the end. I am not your usual card designer.

The paper that lines this particular card has been in my collection for some time now. I'd guess around four or five years without a clue as to what to do with it. And then inspiration struck! While looking at it one day, I realized it reminded me so much of the patterns in windows and domes across the Middle East. Many of those are colored vibrantly, but the shapes are similar and so it dawned on me that this was in fact, a paper showcasing light.

With light in mind, I started looking for quotes by some of my favorite Sufi mystics. The more I read and researched, I kept coming back to the quote by Rumi on this card. Once I started playing with fonts and setting up the card, I knew I had the right fit. I haven't looked back.

This card, especially now, during this time when everything about women seems to be under attack, it's a great reminder that women are a light, whether that be the light of God or not. I think this is an amazing reminder of our power when we decide to do good things for ourselves, our loved ones, and this world. It's the perfect card to send to all the women in your life!

Sold as a single A2 (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") folded card with a hand-lined envelope. The Rumi quote is printed on the front. The inside is blank. The envelope is lined all the way through, by hand.

Paper stock is light cream with chocolate brown colored envelope. You will definitely need a label for the address, or a white or silver colored ink pen to show. The envelope lining is as appears - creamy colored paper with brown pattern all over.
