Coffee Lovers Card - Turkish Proverb Card with Coffee Mug Theme Lined Envelope - Single Blank Greeting Card
I have been infatuated with Turkey, the Country, not the bird, although I do love the bird, too, for quite a few years now. I'm not sure what hooked me, but something did and I've never looked back.
In 2012, before landing in Japan to study papermaking, I spent eight days in Istanbul. It was everything that I expected and more. I made some lovely friends, smoked hookah, walked and walked and walked, ate and ate and ate, and cried. Yep, I cried. Because I was coming off of a loss that engulfed me. I also drank a lot of Turkish coffee. In fact, one of my dearest friends from Istanbul, would make me Turkish coffee and then read the grinds to tell me my fortune. Those who know me, know I love fortunes and I was hooked. The coffee was delicious, too!
Back to winter 2016, where I had sheets of the paper lining these envelopes - illustrated coffee mugs - that I kept picking up, but wasn't sure what card I could design to accompany it correctly. As fate would have it, I found this quote. This glorious Turkish proverb that is as fun and sweet as the envelope liner paper, but as deep and strong as the people, culture, and coffee of it's country of origin. It was an exact fit and I never looked back.
Sold as a single 4Bar (3 1/2" x 4 7/8") folded card with a hand-lined envelope. The Turkish proverb is printed on the front. The inside is blank. The envelope is lined all the way through, by hand.
Paper stock is light cream with matching colored envelope. The envelope lining is as appears - a brown background with assorted mugs printed. Based on how I cut out the envelope liners, no envelope is the same.
This is a great card to send to your friends who love coffee, your partner/spouse who loves coffee, your parents who love coffee, maybe even your favorite barista? You can use it as a way to say hello, offer encouragement, or simply share love.
