This holiday season, I want to bring this to the forefront of how we show up for ourselves and others. Often times, we push ourselves to bake and buy the most, but what if we instead showed up as we are in kindness? What if we take 10 minutes a day to write a letter to someone we love and spread that kindness to ourselves as much as the other person? So many what ifs?
The important ask here though, is are you words are enough? I’m pretty sure they are, and that anyone who receives you words in a card, not just a photo card (documenting your year in review), will appreciate the time and effort it took to write something from your heart and then put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail. Effort more than anything is a sign of love and affection and the rewards reverberate over time.

Originally, this idea was an actual Advent calendar with cards in a sleek designed box that you would pull out for every day in December. I knew though that I wouldn’t follow through with that because I didn’t want to just make something feels like more stuff. I am an environmentalist first and foremost, and I’m also someone who purchases cards when I find one(s) that I love. I understand completely that sometimes you just have too much stuff. While I want everyone to buy my stationery, my mission is more about the act and art of writing and not about the tools you use to write. (Although, I do have my fancy Lamy fountain pen and I am a lover of high quality paper.)
