Elkheart Alchemy is a heartcentered practice of herbalism, spiritualism, and living. Founded in 2021, Elkheart is a bridge between the world of plants & communication - Between voice & healing. Between you, me, and everyone in between.

Over a period of four years, between 2018 and 2021, Sara studied Spiritual Herbalism as an apprentice at the Sacred Vibes Apothecary. During this time, she also studied under several other widely respected herbalists, taking classes to further her knowledge, including: 7Song of Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, Karine Gordineer of Green Girl Herbs and Healing, and Robin Rose Bennett of Wisewoman Healing Ways.

Elkheart Alchemy is the final result of this period and reflects at the root Sara’s extremely personal journey of heart healing, not just for herself, but all the hearts of the men on her paternal side, including her deceased dad. Woven in is a blend of cultures from women ancestors - Mayan and Honduran, French, & African American, Persian/Iranian & Indigenous American.

Shining bright is Sara’s beloved animals elk & deer - both belong to the Cervidae Family & visit her regularly - inspiring patience, courage, intuition, and discernment.

Deer medicine connects to the heart chakra - Anahata, meaning “unstuck.” It is pure love, and moves with the energy of joy and harmony. Elk Medicine gives us the stamina and endurance to get from the known to the unknown. As we move through our fears, we expand, allowing more trust to our circle. When we trust, we allow ourselves to take the “leap of faith” that will unify us with spirit and to the reclaiming of our original grace. Elkheart is a nod to the stamina & faith required to live a true, joyful, and purposeful life.

When Elkheart Alchemy was not even a thought in Sara’s brain, her heart knew otherwise. She saw it in pieces as she drove from New Jersey to Yellowstone National Park in March 2021. Like the Fool in Tarot, her cat, Spam, replaced the small white dog, they forged ahead to the unknown territory of her heart’s calling.

It was the dreams, visions, tears, fears, & hopes that led her then & now. A tour of an elk reserve in Jackson Hole, Wyoming would point to the name. The deer everywhere else confirmed and solidified it.

As she studied & worked with plants and cultures, she recognized the power of the women whose stories inspired her own healing process and journey. She understood the stamina of elk medicine, but also of all the women who have supported, encouraged, and taught her over 41 years. This realization gave way to the Goddess names you see on the bottles; some you’ll recognize and others maybe not. One Goddess, Gloria, is the mother of one of Sara’s best friends. She passed away in 2021. She visited in a dream that was the energy that created the “Glorious!” tea blend.

Maybe four years ago, Sara read about the ancient Goddess, Astarte, and loved her immediately. Swearing she’d name a child of hers Astarte, that child is here… now. And in your hands. Welcome to “Astarte’s Garden” - A line of heart medicine, inspired by Tarot, Goddesses, and the seasonal fruits of nature.

May the Goddess of “war and sexual love,” the stamina of elk, & the innocence of the Fool inspire you as you seek your true (self) love.
